Jewellery Size Guide
The right size does more than fit—it feels effortless, sits securely, and flatters from every angle. Use this guide to find your ideal size for rings, bracelets, and necklaces, whether you are choosing for yourself or for someone special.
Ring Size Guide
Found the perfect ring? Use one of the methods below to measure your size accurately. If you are between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger one for comfort.
Method 1: Measure your finger
Ideal if you do not own a ring that already fits the intended finger.
-
1
Cut a thin strip of paper or use a piece of string.
-
2
Wrap it around the base of your finger where the ring will sit and mark the point where the ends overlap.
-
3
Lay the paper or string flat and measure the length with a ruler in millimetres (mm).
-
4
Compare your measurement with a ring size chart to find the closest size.
If you are creating a ring stack, consider where on your finger each ring will sit—higher on the finger often requires a slightly smaller size.
Method 2: Measure an existing ring
Perfect when you already have a ring that fits the intended finger well.
-
1
Select a ring that fits comfortably on the finger you have in mind.
-
2
Measure the inner diameter of the ring in millimetres using a ruler or caliper.
-
3
Use a ring size chart to convert the inner diameter to your ring size.
Ring sizing tips
- Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold or very warm, as this can affect the result.
- Ensure the size allows the ring to pass over the knuckle but still sit snugly without feeling tight.
- Remember that fingers on your dominant hand are often slightly larger than on your non-dominant hand.
Bracelet Size Guide
A bracelet should feel secure yet fluid—never restrictive. Use the steps below to find the right fit for cuffs, bangles, and chain bracelets.
Measure your wrist
The simplest way to get your base wrist measurement before adding your preferred ease.
-
1
Use a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper.
-
2
Wrap it around your wrist just below the wrist bone—the spot where you would typically wear a bracelet.
-
3
Mark where the ends meet and note the circumference in millimetres or centimetres.
-
4
Add your desired ease (usually 0.5–1.5 cm) and refer to our bracelet size chart or product description to select the most suitable size.
Bracelet sizing tips
Slight adjustments make a big difference in comfort and appearance.
- Measure your wrist at the end of the day for the most accurate result.
- Avoid measuring when your hands are very cold or warm.
- Fit cuffs and bangles more closely to prevent them from turning excessively.
- Allow a little extra room for link and chain bracelets so they can move gently with your wrist without feeling tight.
If you are between sizes or prefer a specific fit (very close vs. loose and draped), share your wrist measurement with us and we will guide you to the ideal option.
Necklace Size Guide
Necklaces are defined by both chain length and pendant size. Your neck circumference, height, and neckline will determine where each length sits.
Measuring your necklace length
Visualise how a chosen length will sit before you order.
-
1
Check the chain length in the product description of the necklace you like.
-
2
Use a flexible tape measure or a piece of string and wrap it around your neck at the desired level.
-
3
Mark where the ends meet, measure the length, and compare with the chain length of the necklace.
Layering tips
- Mix different chain lengths (for example 40 cm, 45 cm, and 50 cm) to create gentle layers.
- Combine pendants of different sizes and shapes to add dimension.
- Avoid tangling by leaving at least 2–3 cm difference between each layer.
Common chain lengths & where they sit
Actual position may vary slightly depending on your neck circumference and height.
| Length | Approximate position | Styling notes |
|---|---|---|
| 38–40 cm | High on the collarbone | Everyday & layering |
| 42–45 cm | On or just below the collarbone | Ideal for most necklines and daily wear. |
| 50–55 cm | Below the collarbone | Elegant for slightly deeper necklines. |
| 60 cm+ | Mid chest | Perfect for statement pendants or layering with shorter chains. |
Many Lumière necklaces offer adjustable jump rings to allow for small length variations and more flexibility when layering.
